House Rules

While a guest at the Philoxenia house, please honor the following rules:

• Cigarette smoking, marijuana and vaping is not permitted on the premises-including the shared garden area.
• Use of all illegal drugs is prohibited.
• Use of any open flame such as incense, candles, etc. is prohibited.
• Alcohol is permitted but in moderation.
• Pets and animals are not allowed on the premises.
• Possession of any firearms or weapons is prohibited.
• Quiet hours are from 8 p.m. – 9 a.m.
• Placing any nail holes or sticky tape on walls without permission is prohibited.
• No housekeeping services are provided during the guests’ stay. Guests are required to keep their units in clean and sanitary conditions. (A list of housekeeping services can be provided on request for guests to organize directly.)
• Guests are required to use the garbage, recycling, compost bins available when discarding garbage.
• Spills, stains or any other matters needing repair must be reported immediately.
• Any infectious diseases must be reported immediately.
• Only registered guests are allowed to sleep in the units.
• Philoxenia house management reserves the right to enter the house with 24 hours prior notice or immediately upon an emergency.

Upon departure, please do the following:

• Place all sheets and towels in the room laundry baskets.
• Leave the beds unmade.
• Place dirty dishes etc. in the dishwasher.
• Wipe down the kitchen and clean all items in the sink.
• Remove all food you have brought from the refrigerator and cupboards.
• Dispose of or remove any medication
• Dispose or remove personal property including medical and other documents
• Take out the garbage to the dedicated bins.
• Philoxenia house is not responsible for personal belongings left behind.
